Why would you put the deck directly on the ground? That's just asking for it to rot out.

hi, being as this is my first time to do decking, I'm a little concerned where to set the decking on my wall, because if I go 150mm above my damp course I will be above my opening for my door. so at what level should I set it bellow the damp course, so I can step out of my patio doors…(I only have 2 brick courses showing below my damp course)…

how do u build a floor on the ground
concrete + damp + wood = dry rot
concrete + rain + wood = wet rot
put some plastic membrane between timbers and wall / concrete

screws for the frame ? I'm teaching myself and I'm sure nails should used for load bearing joints and screws for fixings.
I would also used a DPC between the timber against the house.
Personally this is a terrible video and it will cause you problems.

I dont think its advisable to block the air bricks or fix the decking to the house as you will get splash above the DPC.
